My recordings aren't being transcribed

Make sure BrainFog has microphone permission in your phone's Settings app. If permission is already granted, try force-quitting the app and recording again. Still stuck? Email us.

I have a subscription question or need a refund

Subscriptions are managed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). To cancel or request a refund, visit your device's subscription settings or contact Apple/Google support. We're happy to help guide you, just email us.

My reminders aren't going off

Step 1. Make sure notifications are on

Open your phone's Settings → Apps → BrainFog → Notifications and turn them on.

Step 2 (Android). Let BrainFog run in the background

Many Android phones put apps to sleep to save battery, which blocks reminders. Turn this off for BrainFog:

1. Open Settings → Apps → BrainFog
2. Tap Battery
3. Select Unrestricted (or turn off "Optimize battery usage")

On Samsung phones, also do this:
1. Open Settings → Battery (or Battery and device care)
2. Tap Background usage limits
3. Open Sleeping apps and remove BrainFog if it is listed

On Xiaomi, Oppo, or Vivo phones, also do this:
1. Open Settings → Apps → BrainFog
2. Turn on Autostart (or "Auto-launch")

After these steps your reminders will arrive on time. Still not working? Email us with your phone model and we'll help.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your diary entries stay on your device — BrainFog does not store your recordings or journal text on our servers. To power transcription and diary answers, your voice audio and questions are sent securely to our AI provider (OpenAI) in the moment, processed, then discarded. Your data is never sold, used for advertising, or used to train AI models.

I followed a creator's link

No code is needed. Use the App Store or Google Play button on the creator's BrainFog page and the campaign visit is tracked automatically.
